April is Poetry Month

Calling all poets... Any student wishing to enter the Creative Arts: A Celebration of Poetry contest must turn in an entry by April 3 to meet the deadline. Requirements: Any type of poem, less than 21 lines, must have a title, author's name, school, grade and teacher's name.

Reminder to eighth grade language arts students: The Women in History research paper is due March 27, 2009.

Poetry Night, sponsored by the eight grade Honors Language Arts students, will be held on April 29. This year's theme is "Twilight at the Lake." Mark your calendar for this fun event.

School Musical!

Friday, April 17 is opening night for this year's school musical, Little Women. Several junior high students are performing in the classic Civil War era drama of the March family. Don't miss it! Tickets go on sale in the cafeteria on Wednesday, April 1 for $4.
